He's Alive

In my last post, I offered two options that stand before all people. When it comes to Jesus, we can either crown him or kill him.

Today, those of us who know Him gladly get to choose the former.

Easter is the glue of Christianity. If the Resurrection didn't happen, Jesus was a liar, a madman, or tragically mistaken. Even if everything in the Bible happened, but the Resurrection, every one of the Bible's promises is then suspect.

But, it did happen. And this isn't some mere historical event. These aren't words on a page. This isn't about philosophy or discourse or evidence (though those are all good things), this is about a man who is alive. Not "was" alive. He is alive.

And if Jesus is alive, then all his other promises are true as well.

I have a perpetual need to be reminded of these promises, and I bet I'm not alone, so here's a few:
Because He's alive . . . Jesus will save his people from their sins (Matthew 1:21).

Because He's alive . . . You never need to worry about anything (Matthew 6:32).

Because He's alive . . . God's presence is with his people (Matthew 18:20).

Because He's alive . . . Your prayers are heard (Mark 11:24).

Because He's alive . . . He is the Lord of the Sabbath and true rest belongs to Him (Luke 6:5).

Because He's alive . . . He gives the Holy Spirit to those who ask (Luke 11:13).

Because He's alive . . . Justice and rightness will assuredly come to the Earth (Luke 18:8).

Because He's alive . . . You are free to give up anything and everything for him and know it's a good exchange (Luke 18:30).

Because He's alive . . . You can know that you have crossed over from death to life (John 5:24).

Because He's alive . . . The Spirit has come and guides you into all truth (John 16:13).

Because He's alive . . . He has overcome the world (and fear and doubt and anxiety and temptation and death and . . . ) (John 16:33).

Because He's alive . . . It is finished (John 16:33).

Hallelujah.
