Grace Bombing #9

At the cross, Jesus became dead to sin. At the Resurrection, He rose again, neither the penalty of sin nor the power of sin had any claim on Him. We are in Christ, meaning we have been united in His death to sin and resurrection to new life. We have been fully forgiven of sin's penalty, but also fully freed of sin's power. Just as we must not add to the finished work of justification, nor should we add to the finished work of emancipation. The old man has no claim on you! None! Let us live in the finished work of the Savior.

Sources: The meat of this argument is found in Romans chapters 6-8 consider 6:2, 4-14, 7:24-8:4, 8:9-11,13-15. Further, Colossians 2:12, 3:3-10, Galatians 2:20, 5:24. 6:14, 1 Peter 2:24, 2 Peter 1:3,4,9.
