Day Two: Humble He Came

We are astounded when a millionaire visits a poor neighborhood.  The God who created the earth became a fragile infant and indwelled a broken world.  Not just that, but he came not to be crowned or worshipped, but to be despised and killed.

As the Message puts it:
When the time came, he set aside the privileges of deity and took the status of a slave, became human! Having become human, he stayed human. It was an incredibly humbling process.  He didn't claim special privileges  Instead he lived a selfless, obedient life and then died a selfless, obedient death--and the worst kind of death at that--a crucifixion.
The Christmas story is one about an unfathomable incarnation.  Jesus left the glory of heaven so that he could get us back.

Hallelujah, King Jesus.
